League leaders Fortune F.C maintained their unbeaten run in GFF division one league as they played a stalemate goalless draw with relegation threaten Banjul united at the independence stadium.

The entire first 45 of that game was played with both side applying some cautious approach, knocking slowly, not trying to force issues. And Banjul United who are fighting to get out of the relegation zone prevented Fortune from playing in a way that earned them wins in their previous games.

They outnumbered Fortune in the midfield which makes their attack looked weak and Fortune’s defense line has been kept under immense pressure by the boys in red throughout the second half.

It was on the 63rd minute that the game witnessed the first clear cut chance, when Banjul United dispossessed Fortune, but Pa Omar Babou had his attempt saved with the outstretched leg of Yankuba Sabally and Sambujang Touray prevented the ball from crossing the line with a clearance.

Banjul United then went on to dominate the possession, and in so doing, launched series of attacks with Ansu Jawara hitting over with the goal post at his mercy.

Fortune's Abdoulie Sanyang who came on as a substitute then came close with Fortune’s first closest attempt and hit over on the 75th minutes.

Banjul United then responded with two close threats as Edi Samba had a header crashed off the crossbar before the tricky Muhammed Samba came close and had his shot saved by the outstanding Yankuba Sabally.

The football on view at the stadium was spectacular and the body language of the spectators on the stands shows how much they love the entertaining encounter.

Who will dispute the fact that, this was one of the most exciting game this season. It was not just the night to be for Banjul United, but there in ability to convert chances into goals once again stood between them and the three points.

But, no one should lose sight of the outstanding performance shown by Fortune's goalkeeper Yankuba Sabally whose stops ensured that Fortune stretch their unbeaten run to 16 games.

In the other games, Marimoo and Elite United played a one-all draw, Real De Banjul defeated BK Milan one-nil. Wallidan recorded a 2 - 1 win over Hawks and Waa Banjul condemned Gamtel to a one-nil defeat, while GAF suffered a 2 - 1 loss to struggling Tallinding united.
