After a slow start in the first 30 minutes which saw both side struggled for composure, Gunjur United inject life into the game in the 35th minutes when they open the scoring.
Malang Jassey controls a lovely long pass from center-back Musa Ndong before placing a low cross from the right for Dawda Darbo who tapped into the top roof to put Gunjur ahead and increase his personal tally to two goals.
A minute later Gunjur United add a second from a lovely build-up as Malang Jassey switch the play from right to left with a long pass to Lamin Bojang who exchanged passes with Pedro Lopez, who then skipped inside Biko’s defense from the left to set up Omar Touray who side footed home from a yard out to make it two nil.
Biko playing at home, were not willing to let it go cheaply, they push forward and Kemo Kanyi pulled one back with a close range finish to make it 2 – 1.
At that moment, the home side Biko were hopeful of a possible comeback, but any hope for that, was dashed in the 84th minutes when they conceded a penalty.
Center-back Landing Sanyang blocked Malang Jassey’s shot with his arm for the referee to award a penalty and assistant captain Salifu Bojang converted the spot-kick to sealed a 3 - 1 win for the traveling Gunjur United side.
This is the second defeat for Steve Biko on the spin, can the one-time Bakau’s highly rated team regain that reputation with this squad, remains the question.
