Going into the contest Gamtel were just three points adrift of Real but they squandered the chance to go on level points with the leaders.

Real de Banjul have been strong and consistent throughout the first rounds, yet they displayed another performance that earns them vital points over Gamtel as Kemo Bojang diverted Abdoulie Kah’s corner kick to concede an own goal and earned Real a vital 1 - 0 home win.

It will be fair to say it was a deserve victory for Real as they dominated for the larger part of the contest. Even though they were hitting at half chances until in the 43 minutes when they think they’ve broke the deadlock, only for Ebrima Jatta's goal to be clearly ruled out for an offside.

However, Real's dominance eventually paid off in the 75th minutes when Kemo Bojang deflected Abdoulie Kah’s corner kick into his own net.

From that moment, Gamtel who were struggling to establish them self, decided to up the urgency in search of a leveler, but were caught open at the back whenever real lit top gear. Real’s Kajally Drammeh turns well after a counter attack but had a shot saved well by goalkeeper Musa Camara.

Then came what was going to be a golden moment for Gamtel as Babucarr Cherno Jallow dispossessed Real's Essa Jallow in the box and miss what was going to be a leveler in the 85th minute. The credit must be given to Reals Ebrima Jarju for making a crucial save in a one on one situation.

Though there was still time for Real to add to their lead, but Samba Jawneh hit wide with the goal at his mercy in stoppage time as the tie finishes one nil to Real.

In the other games Armed Forces beat Elite United one nil to move second, struggling Fortune and Tallinding United played a goalless draw, Banjul United and BK Milan also ended goalless. GPA beat Marimoo 3 - 1 to move to the 6th place. Defending champions Brikama United ends the first round with just two wins in 13 games as they played a stalemate goalless draw with Waa Banjul.
