SHAMEFUL EVENING AT BOXBAR SEES BRUFUT OUT AS KOMBO EAST REACH LAST FOUR

A shameful evening at the Boxbar mini stadium leaves many football fans pointing fingers at Brufut and their fans, after they lost to Kombo East in a game that has been abandoned due trouble.

Kombo East were two nil up in the 85th minute when Brufut Adama Saidy and his coach Pa Bojang were sent off for decent petulance. And furious Brufut fans reacted by throwing missiles into the pitch which forces the referee, Taal to end the contest, for his own safety and the safety of the players.

A decision Pa Bojang the Brufut coach described as deliberate. "The is what he wants, to deliberately destroy our game and he has succeeded". He said.

Perhaps Brufut were ashamed of losing to the inexperience Kombo East in such a humiliating fashion, which might have force them to vent their scorching wrath on the refereeing of the game.

Brufut coach before the game said the experience his side had in the championship, will make all the much needed difference, but that only brings a trouble for them, that could trigger a hefty punishment.

Kombo East have shown bravery from the off as they attack Brufut on every presentable chance, but they were not able to cause any threat with their disorganized attackers who usually struggle to create space in the creativity areas.

Even though Brufut were pin back by the Kombo East style of play, but they were causing threats compare to the inexperience Kombo East.

Adama Saidy fires a shot into the side netting from close range before Isiaka Adams miss an unforgivable chance as he miss an attempt in front of an empty net after Ousman Tamba low cross beats the Kombo East goalkeeper.

Kombo East responded with a swift counter attack and the accelerating Alhagie Jallow was tussle down by Bubacarr Camara for the referee to award a penalty.

The comportment of Brufut player after that penalty award, was in all together unsporting. Five players were shown a yellow card for decent. That signal the possibility of a red been shown before the end of the final whistle.

10 minutes after the break a goalkeeping blunder hands Kombo East a second. Goalkeeper Mballow’s arm throw landed under the feet of East Ousman Bojang who laid a quick pass to Momodou Boy Jallow who then slots a 30yard strike beyond the retreating Brufut goalkeeper.

Brufut responded by introducing fresh legs in a bid to stage a comeback, but that dream was all shattered with five minute remaining when Saidy was shown a red for using what the referee after the game refers to as “insulting language”. Pa Bojang as well join the red card pack for protest.

At that moment Brufut fans starts throwing missiles into the pitch and the game was called off after attempts to calm the situation fails.

One thing for certain, whatever happens in that game could only be laid at the doors of Brufut including their defeat, they were too wasteful and the comportment of their players, technicians and the fans was in all together poor.

What will be the punishment? Is the question everyone is asking. But the nature of their act could only warrant a hefty fine. A suspension might be the equivalent of a firing squad for shop lifting.
