After a goalless draw in regulation time at the East Park, the lottery favor’s Falcons as they snatch the trophy and a cash prize of fifteen thousand dalasi’s (15, 000).

Serre-Kunda East are a zone known for producing massive turn-outs for its “nawettan”, and so the curtain raiser follows the same pattern as a large crowd gathered to witness the class of the two most promising teams in last season’s championship.

It was a game that the crowd must have enjoy as both side showed quality and talent. But, the reality is, Falcons has been the better side as their composure, talents and pace ask plenty of questions from Bantaba’s side.

Just after 8 minutes Falcon’s Ebrima Singhateh bursts inside the Bantaba’s penalty area and goes down on a challenge but, the referee didn’t agree with any penalty appeal which was much to the disgust of Falcons fans.

Few minutes later Falcons threaten again as Alieu Jammeh beats Bantaba’s keeper at a tight angle and cut-back for the arriving Ebrima Singhateh, but Bantaba’s defense were on a high alert, as they reacted quick to avert the danger.

Bantaba F.C

The busiest of the two goalkeepers, Bantaba’s Ousman Jaiteh continue to make more stops than his opposite number, while Ebrima Singhateh continue to cause concerns and the impressive Alieu Jammeh was skipping past Bantaba players as if they were not there.

Falcons were nearly rewarded for their dominance in the second period as Bakary N Touray had a shot cleared off the line following a clever play by Alieu Jammeh and Ebrima Singhateh had a shot push around a post by keeper Ousman Jaiteh before being denied again by Jaiteh later on.

The only thing that prevent Bantaba from conceding in the regulation time was their respect and patient as they relaxed well, in so doing only trying to place the passes at the right places.

They also had their moments when Musa Kuyateh forced a diving save off Falcon’s Lamin Jammeh, before team mate Ruhan Ndatty produce a near shock in the closing stages as he hit over from inside the 6yards box.

Falcons then deservedly carries the day in penalty shoot-out as Bantaba’s Abdoulie Sanneh hit the base of the post and team mate Ousman Jaiteh put his shot high and wide for substitute Alagie Saine to step up and convert the winning penalty for Falcons.

Bantaba went home with a runners up prize of ten-thousand dalasi’s (D10, 000).

The triumph means Falcons fourth win in four games against Bantaba in Serre-Kunda East “nawettan”.
