JD UNITED DISRUPT SUKUTA NAWETTAN LEAGUE CUP FINAL

JD United who are the current Knock-out cup holders of the 2017/18 Sukuta nawettan reactivates their dissatisfaction over the verdict of their appeal against Seaview FC as they invade the pitch to force the abandonment of the schedule league cup final.

The league cup final supposed to take place yesterday 30th July 2018 at the Dembadu Park between Seaview and Atlas FC, but the untimely appearance of the angry JD united supporters and officials in the middle of the field forced Sukuta Youths Sports Committee (SYSA) to cancel the tie.


JD lodge a complain against Seaview for fielding in ineligible player following their defeat to Seaview in the league cup semi-finals. However, the rulings of SYSA favored Seaview as they punished the said player with a registration rule from Gambia Football Federation.


The knock-out champions are not satisfied with the ruling as they claimed that the player concern cannot be ban from playing for two season and fined without the points being forfeited from Seaview.


According to SYSA the GFF registrations rules states that if a player played for two different recognize “nawettan” centre’s, the said player should be ban and fine but, the point of the game he played must remain intact.


JD United are not contend with the outcome as they accused SYSA of trying to favor Seaview.


Sukuta Town remains the only GFF recognize footballing centre that is still struggling to rap up its last seasons summer football jamboree (Nawettan).
