GUNJUR SPORTS COMMITTEE HELD ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Gunjur Sports Committee (GSC) conducts annual meeting and elective congress yesterday at Gunjur Day-care centre. The meeting brings together team delegates, observers and sports lovers under whose presence GSC presents it 2017/18 financial report.

GSC Members

The year financial statement indicates a total income of seven-hundred and ninety-two thousand and twenty-nine dalasis (792, 029) out of which seven-hundred and eighty-six thousand, three-hundred and twenty-eight dalasis (786, 328) was spent which left a balance of -5,708.

In addressing the financial transactions of GSC team delegates vehemently debunk the report which they said has not been audited neither vetted.

Hatab Jobe a delegate of Reliance FC called on the teams to start doing something. “we have to start restructuring our football, we cannot be going ahead with excuses all the time.”

Jobe further added that if the incapacitated committee can be the sports authorities the teams can do more. “We of thirty-two can do better that this committee. Each team has to show commitment in the interest of the development of the game by providing two competent member to serve as an interim committee for one year” he stated.

Delegates

After deliberations between team representatives and GSC treasury department, several errors were sighted which the treasurer’s admits.

However, Lamin N. Darbo the chairman of GSC rejects the claims that his committee has “failed” as he noted.

“In football management failure comes in few areas like, if you are not successful in players and infrastructural development. Also, when your tournaments are not completed and there is no fund in your accounts, so I don’t understand if you said we have failed”.

The congress also witnesses the nomination of new executive members to stair the affairs of sports in Gunjur for the next three seasons.
