A fourteen team Gambia Football Federation national domestic division two league championship that only supposed to see a single team as league winners, ended of witnessing two coronation at the end of the season.

Samger FC
Wallidan F.C were crowned initial winners of the league after the final round of matches, as they were superior on goal differences ahead of Samger F.C who many believed should have been the champions.
Samger were alleged for using an “unqualified” player (Haruna Sidibeh) set to be the player of Serre-Kunda East Bi who went on to appeal Samger for using “their” player. The organizing committee in their own ruling penalize Samger and forfeited three points and two goals and handed it to Serre-kunda East Bi, which gave Wallidan an advantage to drew level on points with Samger at the summit.
Wallidan went on to finish ahead of Samger on goal difference in the final two round of matches and were initially crowned League champions.
However, Samger keep challenging the ruling of the organizing committee with several protest letters. Samger’s point of contention was Haruna Sidibeh was not a contracted player of Serre-Kunda East Bi and did not also play for them for over a year which make him a free player and as well the timing of giving the verdict was four months from the time of the appeal which Samger perceived as a move in trying to “favor” Wallidan.
Samger had since then have several protests turned down by the organizing committee but, they never relent as they keep pushing it hot on the heals and forward the matter to GFF Appeal and Disciplinary (ADC) Committee.
After several investigations the ADC ascertain that Serre-Kunda East Bi has no rightful ownership over Haruna thereby rendering their appeal null and void which reinstated Samger’s forfeited points and crowned them the rightful Champions of 2017/18 GFF domestic division two league.
The trophy was strip off from Wallidan and officially handed to Samger as the rightful champions after the end of the FF Women’s cup final between Interior and Red Scorpion yesterday at the Serre-kunda East Park.
