Ajax and FC Bax are through to the finals of Green Vision International Real Estate Agency and Golden Lead Fish Meal Company sponsored Gunjur Nawettan after beating Blaness and The-Pub FC in the semi-finals.
Blaness dubbed 'giant Killers' has killed several giants in the name of the mighty Red Star, Reliance and CommIT FC but, Sunday was their own turn as irresistible Ajax defeats them 4 - 1 on penalties following a scoreless stalemate in regulation time.

While in the first semi finals on Saturday, new man Tijan Jatta's lone goal for Bax put an end to The-Pub's unbeaten run.
The two months plus break of the Nawettan was expected to take off the excitement and interest of the semi-final matches and the fact that sem-finalist teams were only notified of their games a week prior to, makes almost all the football lovers assume that games will be boring.
However, it was the opposite over the weekend as all the team's shows somewhat a respectable performance.

The tie between Bax and The-Pub was expected on paper, to go the The-Pub way as Bax were without head coach Musa Faal, assistant Lamin Fatty and magician Adama Bangura who is the tournament joint top scorer with four goals as they all travels. But, former coach Dembo Touray deputies on the technical bench and sent out technical and tactical instructions that works to perfection.
In reality The-Pub were somehow the dominant side as their high pressing football left Bax who were clumping and hitting upfield balls trying to rely on the pace of their attacking trio Meen Faal, Lamin Jallow and Tijan Jatta, in confusion. Whenever Bax wins possession midfield maestro Sheriff Touray always tried to slow the momentum with some clever movement's and passes but, The-Pub tactics of all attacking and defending makes it hard for him.

Amsumana Camara hit twice into the gloves of Bax custodian before Bax eventually takes a surprise lead as Tijan Jatta the replacement for Adama Bangura impacted in his first game as his free-kick hit a small hump and bounces over the keeper who already attempts to save the ball. That goal was all but enough to see off The-Pub as Bax shows some tactical maturity to defend the slender advantage.
In the second semi-final it was a tight and tough game full of end to end attacking between Ajax and Blaness FC.

Chances came and went for Ajax's Alieu Joof who curl wide after coming face to face with the keeper, Ebrima Touray forced off a diving save from Blaness netminder and team mate Musa Krubally hit wide with the goal at his mercy. In the other end Blaness's Dembo Fatajo's shot was saved well and captain Yusupha Janneh (Del) forces Dodou Jobe in the Ajax post into an acrobatic save with a long range left-foot curler.
The second period saw more attacks from Ajax with Musa Krubally hitting wide from 6yards out as Blaness look sort of energy. But, when ever Blaness won possession Yusupha Janneh and the inexperience diminutive midfielder Dembo Fatajo who made a big name for himself in his first seasons in Gunjur Sumner football campaign (Nawettan) for not losing a midfield battle, even against the big guns, were always a cause for concern.
However, tried as they might the two side couldn't found the means to break down each others backline and the contest was decided by lottery which saw heartbreak for Blaness as they misses two of their first three spot-kick to hand Ajax who scored all their four taken kick a 4 - 1 triumph.
Eventhough their aims were not met but, both The-Pub FC who has not concede a goal until Saturday and Blaness held their heads up as they defies all odds to reaching the league semi-finals in their maiden appearance and exit in a rather dramatic fashion.
