Newly promoted side Gunjur United and Waa Banjul FC continue to struggled for form as they shared points in a drab scoreless stalemate in Gambia Football Federation National Division Two campaign.

The week five match at the Independence Stadium doesn’t have much talking points. Fewer than hundred spectators turned to witnessed the tie at a thirty thousand capacity stadium, which speaks volume of how boring the atmosphere was. The two sides were expected to make things a bit colourful with some impressive football but, instead the tie was a mere damp squib.
Last seasons West Coast Region Third Division League champions Gunjur United had been expected to beat Waa Banjul comfortably judging by their performance in their past games but, failed to find any rhythm or accurate passing in midfield, nor any cutting edge or threatening movement in attack.

Waa Banjul took advantage and showed a brave display against a Gunjur side that was missing six starting players due to injury. The two sides however, struggle for composure from start to finish. Few chances went begging for both sides, in truth the draw was nothing more than a fair reflection.
Gunjur a side dubbed “Barcelona” during the “Super Nawettan” championship due to their total impressive football, are yet to replicate a performance of such in the Second tier. Understandably that could be attributed to the injury crisis facing their team. Five points in five outings is no denying a dull performance.
While for Waa Banjul the fact that they have too many young inexperience players seem to be responsible for their underperformance as they only secured three points in five games.
